FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in making gas analytical devices and catalysts for oxidative processes. To obtain material based on CaFe2O4, having gas-sensitive and catalytic properties, charge is prepared from reactive preparations, the sample is pressed and calcined. Starting compounds used are Fe2O3 and CaO. Calcination is carried out at temperature of 1,000 °C for 4 hours in inert helium atmosphere.

EFFECT: invention simplifies production of material based on CaFe2O4, having phase and chemical homogeneity, gas-sensitive to oxygen and active in deep oxidation of methane.
