SUBSTANCE: disclosed is separating device (1) for separating strip material having belt width (W), over pre-formed tear-off lines, wherein the separating device has a width direction (W’) and comprises at least first shaft (2) and at least second shaft (3) extending parallel to the first longitudinal axis (20) and the second longitudinal axis (22) in a direction (W’) of width. At that, the second longitudinal axis (22) is located at the distance (d1) from the first longitudinal axis (20) in the direction perpendicular to the width direction (W’). Separating device comprises at least one first protruding element (4) extending perpendicularly from first shaft (2) and made with possibility of rotation around first longitudinal axis (20), at least one second inlet element (4’) extending perpendicularly from second shaft (3) and configured to rotate about second axis (22). In the operating position of separating device (1), the first and second protruding elements (4, 4’) are arranged in an alternating order so that projecting element (4) of first shaft (2) partially overlaps with protruding element (4’) of second shaft (3) with radial length (L) of overlapping in direction perpendicular to shafts (2, 3), forming wave-like channel for belt material. Device comprises at least one contact element (42’) pressed to at least one of first and second protruding elements (4, 4') in direction perpendicular to first or second axis (20, 22) around which said at least one protruding element (4, 4’) is able to rotate.
