SUBSTANCE: invention relates to grinding roll for crushers. Disclosed is a crushing roller for crushers with a vertical axis, made by casting a metal matrix, which has reinforcing inserts on its periphery. Peripheral surface of the same insert includes sections located at distance d1 or d2 from the working surface depending on loads of wear. Roller comprises at least one zone Z1 of action of high load of wear with at least one section of insert located at distance d1 near working surface of said roll, and zone Z2 of low load of wear with section of insert located at distance d2 at distance from working surface of roll, wherein d1 < d2.

EFFECT: invention provides high efficiency at crushing of such materials as stones, coal and cement clinker.
