FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to determine vessel capacity of glass vessels. Essence of the invention consists in the fact that using X-ray computer tomography (10) instrument several X-ray images (I) of the vessel are obtained at different angles of the projection. According to the invention, X-ray images are analysed to construct a digital model (M) of the vessel based on X-ray images; determining inner surface (Sf) of digital model of vessel; locating filling level plane (Pn) on digital model of vessel parallel to support plane and at nominal distance (Hn) from top of digital model of vessel; by calculation, to measure inner volume of digital model of vessel, limited by inner surface (Sf) of digital model and plane (Pn) of filling level, and this measurement is capacitance (Cn) of vessel filling.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of accurate and fast determination of vessel capacity of glass vessels.
