FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used in chemical industry. Method of producing sulphur and hydrogen from hydrogen sulphide-containing gas involves feeding hydrogen sulphide-containing gas into plasma in a fast-flow reactor outside the limit of electric discharge in conditions of a non-equilibrium plasma-chemical process and subsequent removal of reaction products from the reactor. Plasma-forming gas used is molecular hydrogen in a thermally dissociated state. Hydrogen sulphide-containing gas is fed tangentially into the annular gap between the inner and outer housings of the reactor to provide preliminary heating of the hydrogen sulphide-containing gas and to reduce heat losses. Then, the hydrogen sulphide-containing gas is supplied to the vortex mixer inlet. Passing through the vortex mixer, the hydrogen sulphide-containing gas and heat-dissociated hydrogen form oppositely rotating flows and are mixed. In reactor maintained temperature is not higher than 400 °C. Invention also discloses an apparatus for producing sulphur and hydrogen from hydrogen sulphide-containing gas.

EFFECT: invention enables to obtain end products with minimum energy consumption.
