SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a nutritional composition for an infant or a young child. Artificial nutritional composition contains at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide, which is 2'-fucosyllactose (2'FL), and at least one N-acetylated oligosaccharide, which is lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT) and is used in the prevention and/or treatment of constipation and/or to reduce stool hardness and/or to increase the rate of transit in an infant or young child. Composition includes additional fucosylated oligosaccharide(s) selected from a list consisting of 3'-fucosyllactose, difucosyl lactose, lacto-N-fucopentaose I, lacto-N-fucopentaose II, lacto-N-fucopentaose III, lacto-N-fucopentaose V, lacto-N-fucohexaose, lacto-N-difucohexaose I, fucosyllacto-N-hexaose, fucosyllacto-N-neohexaose I, fucosyllacto-N-neohexaose II, difucosyllacto-N-hexaose I, difucosyllacto-N-neohexaose I, difucosyllacto-N-neohexaose II, fucosyl-para-lacto-N-hexaose and any combination thereof, as well as additional N-acetylated oligosaccharide(s), selected from a list consisting of lacto-N-tetraose (LNT), para-lacto-N-neohexaose (para-LNnH) or any combination thereof. Fucosylated oligosaccharide(s) is(are) present in total amount of 0.8–1.5 g/l of composition or in total amount of 0.55–1.05 g/100 g of composition in terms of weight of dry substance, and N-acetylated oligosaccharide(s) is(are) present in total amount of 0.1–2 g/l of composition or in total amount of 0.06–1.4 g/100 g of composition in terms of weight dry substance. Infant represents a child under age of 12 months, and the young child is a child aged one to three years.

EFFECT: disclosed is a composition for use in improving stool consistence or frequency in infants or young children.
