SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to activation of a digesting ability in an infant or a young child. The use of an artificial nutritional composition containing at least one N-acetylated oligosaccharide and at least one fucosylated oligosaccharide in a method for activation of a digesting ability in an infant or a young child is disclosed. The use of a milk formula for children aged 1 to 3 in a method for activation of a digesting ability in a child is also disclosed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides an increase in an ability to cleave macronutrients, such as lipids, fat-soluble vitamins, proteins, and/or carbohydrates, in infants and young children.
