SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to surgical stapling tools. Cassette for applying a reinforcing member for transfer and application of the reinforcing member on the surgical stapling device, note also that cassette comprises housing, platform, first reinforcing element assembly and data transmission element. Body forms a gap configured to accommodate a portion of the end effector of the surgical stapling instrument. Part of platform is located in clearance formed by case. Assembly of the first reinforcing element is located on the platform. Assembly of the first reinforcing element is located in the gap formed by the case. Data transmission element is configured to provide data relating to the cassette. Data transmission element contains an environmental condition indicator. Ambient state indicator is configured to display information indicating the state of the environment to which the cartridge is exposed. Surgical system comprises a cassette for applying a reinforcing element and a stapling instrument. Cartridge for applying the reinforcing element contains a body, a platform, a reinforcing element assembly and a closing indicator. Body forms a gap configured to receive a portion of the end effector of the surgical stapling instrument. Part of platform is located in clearance formed by case. Reinforcement element assembly is located on the platform. Reinforcement element assembly is located in the gap formed by the body. Closure indicator is configured to receive a signal indicating a force applied to the reinforcing member assembly, and wherein the force value corresponds to a threshold value of sufficient force, and providing indication that the force value is sufficient. Suturing instrument comprises a barrel assembly, an end effector and a display. End effector is located at the distal end of the shaft assembly. End effector comprises an anvil and a cassette with staples. Anvil is movable to the staple cartridge. Staple cartridge is configured to bring the staples in movement towards the anvil. Display is configured to transmit information associated with the cartridge based on one or both: data transmitted from the cartridge to the stapling tool, or data detected by one or more sensors in a stapling tool. Method of operation with a stapling tool, according to which: an open end effector of the stapling tool is placed around the cassette platform for applying a reinforcing member, wherein the cartridge for applying the reinforcing member comprises at least one reinforcing member assembly; receiving data associated with the cassette, the data being received through the stapling tool; closing the end effector to attach at least one reinforcing member assembly to the end effector; receiving data indicating force applied to at least one reinforcing member; elapsed time during which end effector is closed is tracked; when force value corresponds to threshold value of sufficient force, and elapsed time corresponds to threshold value of time, indication is made that end effector is attached.

EFFECT: use of the inventions allows the operator to easily load the reinforcing assembly into the surgical stapler end effector on a special base during a surgical procedure.
