FIELD: image processing means.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of backward compatible stream representing immersive video image, for example, when such flow is distributed to heterogeneous set of client devices, some of client devices are configured to display traditional rectangular video images, and others are configured to display immersive video images. At least one conventional rectangular video image is captured from an immersive video image obtained from a source. Plurality of camera control data is used to determine which parts of the immersive video image will form traditional video images. These portions are removed from the immersive video image, and each prepared video image is packaged into a stream. Structure from the flow is a container. Information on location and size of remote parts can be added to flow.
EFFECT: technical result is overcoming the lack of format for backwards compatible immersive video stream, which could be properly displayed on devices for playing both traditional and immersive video image.
