SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of purifying a solid organophosphite compound and can be used in chemical industry. Method comprises: (a) obtaining a solid organophosphite compound, subjected to recrystallization or trituration into a powder, wherein said solid organophosphite compound contains phosphorous acid; (b) dissolving said solid organophosphite compound in an organic solvent; (c) treating the obtained solution with a weakly basic adsorbent; (d) collecting the treated organophosphite solution, wherein the content of the acid in the organophosphite after step (d) is 30 ppm or less, in which said weakly basic adsorbent includes metal oxide, metal carbonate or anionic clay with effective pKa of less than 12, or weakly basic ion-exchange resin, said solvent includes toluene, xylene, diethyl ether, dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, butyraldehyde, valeraldehyde, butyraldehyde/butyraldehyde mixture, a mixture of valeraldehyde/valeraldehyde condensates or mixture thereof.
EFFECT: disclosed is a novel method of purifying a solid organophosphite compound, effective for removing phosphorous acid.
