SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology. Invention provides a method for testing the presence of a contaminant in a first or second liquid culture medium, an initial material used to produce a first or second liquid culture medium, or a mammalian cell source containing a nucleic acid which encodes a recombinant protein, wherein the method involves: providing a multi-well plate, incubating a multi-well plate, detecting recombinant protein in a mammalian cell or in a first and/or second liquid culture medium; comparing the amount of recombinant protein, identifying a first or second liquid culture medium, a raw material used to produce a first or second liquid culture medium, or a mammalian cell source, as containing a contaminant, when the level of the produced recombinant protein is below the reference level.
EFFECT: invention can be used for high-efficiency screening of tissue culture media and components of tissue culture media.
