FIELD: electrical communication engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrically active polymer drives. Disclosed is a drive member having a reservoir property and comprising an electroactive polymer material configured to be deformed depending on the magnitude of the applied electric field, and a capacitance compensation means configured to at least partially compensate for changes in capacitance caused by deformation of the drive member. Tank compensation facility comprises compensating material that forms separate layer for electroactive polymer material or forms a mixture or composite with electroactive polymer material. Note here that separate layer exhibits reduced capacity. Compensating material in the mixture or composite exhibits reduced effective relative dielectric permeability in response to one or more of the following changes: increased magnitude of applied electric field, increased applied electric charge, mechanical deformation of drive element.
EFFECT: simplified electronic control of device due to absence of necessity to take into account change of capacity of drive element at its deformation.
