FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthetic methods of heterogeneous catalysed hydrogenation of sulphate turpentine, specifically to an improved method of producing cis-/trans-pinane, cis-/trans-para-mentane and other saturated monoterpene C10-hydrocarbons in a liquid phase without using molecular hydrogen H2. Method of producing mixture of saturated monoterpene C10-hydrocarbons is performed by hydrogenation of sulphate turpentine without using gaseous molecular hydrogen, in which a heated mixture of sulphatic turpentine and isopropanol taken in ratio of 1:4 to 2:3, Raney nickel is continuously fed into a flow reactor of a tubular type with a fixed catalyst bed.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the production of a mixture of saturated monoterpene hydrocarbons, preferably cis-/trans-pinanes, using the disclosed method from sulphate turpentine using isopropanol as a hydrogen donor (reducing agent), wherein in hydrogenation products concentration of sulfur-containing impurities is considerably reduced, thus increasing value of end product and enlarging its application area; besides, use of online control of conversion of sulphate turpentine components in flow allows controlling activity of Raney nickel catalyst and controlling conversion of sulphate turpentine.
