FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of selecting a wireless communication network or service, specifically to improving the process of selecting an improved packet data gateway (ePDG) in a visited country. For this, user equipment UE is configured to receive ePDG selection information, configured HPLMN of user equipment, wherein said ePDG selection information comprises a PLMN list indicating whether the ePDG selection in the PLMN is preferable, or mandatory, or non-preferential, and to select the ePDG, the country's managed PLMN, in which there is a UE, called a local PLMN, which searches for a roaming agreement with the HPLMN of user equipment for untrusted access of the WLAN to the EPC, based on said PLMN list configured in said ePDG selection information, and MCC list of said country and/or local PLMN list.

EFFECT: enabling user equipment (UE) selection of corresponding ePDG for emergency calls when UE is not connected to any PLPN 3GPP.
