FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to a method for determining a central ratio of jaws by exposure to electric current to a ligamentous apparatus of a temporomandibular joint, temporal and mastication muscles. Electrodes are placed in the areas in front of each of the auditory canals in the projection of each of the temporomandibular joints. Electrodes are fixed to provide current flow through the temporomandibular joint structure. Electric alternating current pulses generated by the electric pulse generator before the jaws are placed in the correct position are passed through the electrodes. Frequency range of electric pulses ranges from 7 Hz to 100 kHz. Pulse current intensity range is from 1 nA to 1 mA.

EFFECT: higher efficiency and rate of finding a central ratio of jaws, as well as more accurate positioning of lower jaw by exposure to electric pulses on ligamentous apparatus of temporomandibular joint, temporal and mastication muscles.
