FIELD: detergents.
SUBSTANCE: use of a polypeptide having deoxyribonuclease (DNase) activity to prevent, reduce or eliminate a biofilm from a textile article, where the polypeptide is obtained from a fungus-related source. Polypeptide is characterized by at least 80 % sequence identity with a mature polypeptide with SEQ ID NO: 2, SEQ ID NO: 8 or SEQ ID NO: 9. Detergent composition contains mentioned polypeptide and an auxiliary detergent ingredient. Method of washing a textile product involves the following steps. Product is exposed to a detergent solution. At least one washing cycle is completed and the article is optionally rinsed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides an obstacle to sedimentation of dirt on various types of fabrics and improved whiteness of the textile article.
