SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication. First network node and second network node are configured to use periodic notification for transmissions in a mesh network. First network node calculates (402a) the first duration associated with transmitting the first size data to be transmitted to the second network node. First network node further calculates (402b) a second duration associated with a time period until there is no scheduling of receiving or transmitting data for the second network node. Based on the first and second duration, the first network node decides (403) whether to reduce the first transmission size to a second size so that the first duration becomes less than the second duration. First network then performs (404) transmission according to decision result (403).
EFFECT: technical result is increased efficiency of mesh network.
