FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of high-temperature superconducting tapes of small width (typically from 1 to 11 mm) of second generation based on mixed oxides of rare-earth elements, barium and copper, which can be used in devices requiring constant quality control of wires, in particular in current-limiting devices, generators, motors, transformers, magnets etc. Method for manufacturing of high-temperature superconducting tapes of second generation of specified width, includes the following steps: obtaining an HTSC workpiece for making HTSC tapes by successively applying buffer layers, an HTSC layer and a protective layer onto the substrate tape; cutting the workpiece from the stage in the longitudinal direction to the HTSC tape of the specified width, where each belt includes at least one edge formed in the process of cutting the workpiece, with delaminated fragments adjoining said edge; removal of delaminated HTSC tape fragments obtained at the stage, application on the tape from the additional protective layer stage.
EFFECT: method allows preserving current-carrying properties of HTSC tape after machining, in particular cutting, as well as their predictability and stability.
