FIELD: construction.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shore-protecting structures located in the recreation zone and can be used for construction of city embankments, as well as mooring and shore protective structures erected on open water areas. Problem, which is solved by the claimed invention, consists in protection of embankment territory from the bay during a storm due to reduction of height of bursts from waves running on the embankment retaining wall. City embankment includes, as well as a prototype, installed on the foundation along the shoreline of the retaining wall with the upper platform, located along the wall and fenced off from it by the parapet, unlike prototype, retaining wall is constructed of gabions filled with stones with porosity of 0.4-0.5 of aggregate volume. Width of the wall is determined from the relationship bκ=0.5∙τ∙νκ, where νκ is the speed of the rough wave in the masonry, and τ is the period of disturbance.

EFFECT: providing maximum damping of incident wave energy and reduction of wave height at its collision with wall, which will provide protection of embankment territory from bay during storm.
