FIELD: oil, gas and coke-chemical industries.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petrochemical industry, specifically to methods of producing ethylene by pyrolysis of hydrocarbon material. Described is a method of purifying pyrogas by tempering in quenching-evaporation apparatus with subsequent direct contact thereof with circulating quenching oil in oil quenching apparatus, characterized by that in the quenching oil composition there are high-boiling sulphur-containing compounds with a boiling point higher than 180 °C in amount of 0.1–2.5 wt. % in terms of sulphur, and the quenching oil used is diesel fuel or gas oil with boiling point of 190–500 °C.
EFFECT: technical result is improvement of pyro-gas purification process by increasing efficiency of hardening oil by absorption of resins, coke, reduced formation of deposits in apparatus and pipelines, reduction of consumption of fresh hardening oil, as well as exclusion of resin and coke carryover with pyrolysis flow to stage of pyrogas compression.
