FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to verification (authentication) of geometric codes and can be used in establishing facts of production and sale of counterfeit goods, authentication of documents. Method of authentication of marking includes a number of stages of processing and comparing images by means of a neural network U-net: a step of obtaining images of a genuine and verifiable print of a two-dimensional code, a step of preliminary localizing images, rotating and cutting an image of a two-dimensional code from a two-dimensional code print based on localized boundary points, a step of accurately aligning images of two-dimensional codes, a step of pixel-by-pixel comparison of images of two-dimensional codes using a neural network U-net with counting the number of different pixels, step of comparison of counted number of different pixels with established threshold value. In case, when the number of different pixels exceeds the specified threshold value, it is established that the checked imprint of the two-dimensional code is not authentic, otherwise, it is established that the inspected two-dimensional code fingerprint is authentic.

EFFECT: higher accuracy of determining the authenticity of marking while avoiding the need to accurately match the spatial location of two prints of two-dimensional codes.
