FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ceramic and aviation industries and can be used in machining of large-size complex-shaped ceramic articles. Said result is achieved due to the fact that the method of mechanical processing of large-size complex-shaped ceramic articles involves installation on the drum machine equipped with cams for fixation of the article with process allowance, fastening the article by means of cams, processing the inner surface of the article with a diamond circle to the required size. Process allowance fishing tool is installed, consisting of holder, rod and brackets adjusting holder position. Holder is brought inside the product and placed in the upper part of the product at distance of 5–30 mm from the article surface; the technological allowance is cut off with a diamond circle and removed from the holder.
EFFECT: enlarging the machining capabilities of the large-dimensionally complex ceramic articles by preventing the destruction of the technological allowance and ensuring the protection of the maintenance personnel.
