FIELD: ceramic industry; aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ceramic and aircraft industries and can be used for machining of large-dimensionally complex ceramic articles. Method of mechanical processing of large-size ceramic articles of conical shape includes installation of mandrel to machine, fixation of article by means of fixing units made in form of fixed support and clamping device, processing the outer surface of the article with a diamond circle to the required size. After fastening the article on the mandrel by means of fixing units, the article is machined from the clamping center to the end of the article with a diamond circle to the required size. Clamping center is removed, the article is fixed with the help of a yoke along the external surface and mechanical processing of the product nose is performed till alignment with the processed surface.
EFFECT: expansion of technological capabilities of process of machining of large-size ceramic articles of conical shape.
