FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst composition for isomerisation of alkylaromatic compounds, which contains a component which is a carrier material, and component, which is metal (s), applied on component, which is carrier material, wherein component, which is carrier material, consists of (i) a ZSM-12 type zeolite in amount of 2 to 20 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier material, wherein zeolite type ZSM-12 is characterized by molar ratio of silicon dioxide to aluminum oxide in range from 60 to 200; (ii) EU-1 type zeolite in amount of 2 to 30 wt % in terms of total weight of carrier material, wherein EU-1 type zeolite is characterized by molar ratio of silicon dioxide to aluminum oxide in range of 20 to 150; and inorganic binder in amount of 55 to 96 wt % in terms of total weight of support material; and wherein component, which is metal(s), contains group VIII metal in amount of 0.1 to 0.6 wt % in terms of total weight of catalyst and inorganic binder consists of aluminum oxide. Invention also relates to a method for isomerisation of alkylaromatic compounds, which is the use of a catalyst.
