FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to genetic engineering, microbiology, virology. Disclosed is a recombinant strain of bacteria Escherichia coli JM 109 4-162, intended for use as a positive control when assessing the effectiveness of West Nile virus 4 cDNA amplification and being a producer of the recombinant plasmid pWNV4protC. Above plasmid pWNV4protC bears a West Nile virus 4 genome fragment with size of 162 base pairs, which is a section of the West Nile virus polyprotein gene encoding capsid protein. Proposed strain is deposited in the State Collection of Pathogenic Bacteria of the Federal Government Health Institution of the Russian Research Anti-Plague Institute Microb of Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare, No. KM 2051. Invention can be used for designing and manufacturing of sets of reagents for detection and differentiation of West Nile virus genotypes.
EFFECT: invention provides effective replication and recovery of recombinant plasmid pWNV4protC with high output.
