FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a novel method of producing a crystalline form of 1-(1-naphthyl)-2-thiourea with a melting point of 195–197 °C and next values of parameters of crystallographic cell: spatial group C2/c, a=15.424(2) Å, b=7.636(1) Å, c=17.114(2) Å, β=91.584(2)°, Z=8.
EFFECT: novel method of crystallisation of a technical substance of a rat from a mixture of chloroform with a low-chain alcohol selected from isopropyl alcohol and n-propyl alcohol, which enables to obtain a crystalline modification of 1-(1-naphthyl)-2-thiourea, which contains a smaller number of impurities and is not a finely dispersed product requiring the use of enhanced protection measures for skin and respiratory apparatus.
