SUBSTANCE: aerosol delivery device comprises at least one housing accommodating a control component and a motion sensor. Control component can control the operation of the aerosol delivery device based on the detected air flow passing through at least a part of the at least one case. Motion sensor can detect a predetermined movement of the aerosol delivery device, indicating a vulnerability of the aerosol delivery device or user of said device, wherein the motion sensor is configured to convert the predetermined motion into an electrical signal. Control component or motion sensor can detect vulnerability and operation related to vulnerability, based on electric signal, and control component can control at least one functional element of aerosol delivery device to perform operation, which can be performed in case of detection of vulnerability.

EFFECT: disclosed is motion detection for an aerosol delivery device.
