SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an aerosol-generating device. Aerosol generating device comprises a device housing comprising a cavity having an inner surface, forming a portion of the receiving chamber for accommodating at least a portion of the aerosol-generating article and further comprising a plurality of retaining ribs extending inside said cavity, arranged along entire inner surface of side wall of receiving chamber with inclination relative to longitudinal axis of receiving chamber. Plurality of ribs are configured to contact at least part of said aerosol-generating article, note also that ribs of said multiple retaining ribs are spaced apart to make air channels in gaps between adjacent retaining ribs. Reduced conductive heat exchange between article or at least that part of product, which is aerosol-forming substrate, and surrounding wall. Condensation and temperature gradient are reduced inside article or substrate.

EFFECT: enabling possibility of more homogeneous temperature distribution in heated part of product and as a result, provides more efficient use of the aerosol-generating substrate.
