METHOD OF WATANABE FOR SURGICAL MANAGEMENT OF PARACAPSULAR DISRUPTIONS OF DISCOID MENISCUS I-II IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B17/56

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, traumatology and orthopaedics, and can be used for treating paracapsular ruptures of discoid meniscus I-II type by Watanabe in children. Partial resection of the discoid meniscus is performed until a semilunar meniscus is obtained. Sutures are applied perpendicularly to the rupture line such that one suturing needle passes through the meniscus tissue and through the rupture, and the second stitching needle passes through the joint capsule. Sutures are staggered in 0.5 cm increments to orient needle sutures so that after tightening suturing thread is above meniscus, second suture - under meniscus, alternating such seams until elimination of rupture.

EFFECT: method allows to preserve damping and stabilizing function of meniscus, create conditions for meniscus recovery to normal state, as well as perform stable fixation without the risk of suture cutting and meniscus shape disturbance due to a combination of methods of the declared method.
