FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for detecting an intruder and recognizing its class and can be used in applications of two concentrated magnetometric detection means (DM) for signalling control of a road section. Method consists in control of road section by two DM, installed in close proximity to road in series one after another at such distance that their detection zones (DZ) in class "vehicle" ("V") intersect, and the DZ in the class "person" ("P") did not intersect, for which the CO are located at a distance from three to four radii of the DZ in the class "P"; in transmission of an alarm signal from the DM to the information collection and processing system (ICPS) for the entire time of the intruder movement through the DZ DM; in accumulation of alarm signals from DM during preset time of signals accumulation, which depends on minimum possible speed of intruder movement; in use in ICPS algorithm for determining direction of intruder in order of arrival of alarm signals from detection means; in application in ICPS of algorithm for determining class of intruders: "Vehicle" or "C", by the delay time between the alarm signals of the DM, which has been triggered by the second one, and the DM triggered by the first one: if the alarm signal comes from the DM triggered by the second, after the DM which has been triggered first, has passed into the standby mode - the intruder of the "P" class is detected, if an alarm signal begins to flow from the DM, triggered by the second one, when the DM, which has been triggered by the first one, is still in alarm mode, an intruder of the "V" class is detected.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the probability of error when recognizing an intruder class - "P" or "V".
