FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: to evaluate the success of processing agricultural products with 1-methylcyclopropene, physical characteristics are compared in two batches—processed and unprocessed fruits. Physical indicator used is intensity of ethylene extraction in both batches, and the research process is carried out in two stages, at the first of which both batches are held in the same conditions for 3–10 days at room temperature, then placing identical batches of batches in identical sealed containers by volume for 1–10 hours, followed by measuring the amount of released ethylene in both batches per unit weight of fruits per unit time and then comparing the results, wherein reduction of the amount of released ethylene in the treated batch compared to the unprocessed one indicates the success of the treatment.
EFFECT: what is presented is a method for assessing the success of agricultural crop treatment with 1-methylcyclopropene.
