FIELD: medicine; dentistry; hygiene.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions intended for oral care. Composition for oral care contains arginine in free form or in form of salt and zinc ions, which are present in the composition in concentration of 0.00052 mol/100 g to 0.00062 mol/100 g in terms of total weight of the composition. Zinc ions are provided by a zinc compound selected from a group consisting of zinc oxide, zinc lactate, zinc chloride and zinc citrate. Another embodiment is a method for reducing the unpleasant odor from an oral cavity of a subject, comprising administering said composition into the oral cavity.
EFFECT: using the group of inventions makes it possible to increase efficiency in reducing unpleasant odor from the mouth by reducing the level of volatile sulfur compounds.
