SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used to create reciprocating internal combustion engines (hereinafter ICE) using gasoline and / or diesel fuel as fuel. An internal combustion engine with a variable compression ratio contains two parallel crankshafts that rotate towards each other at the same angular speed and are synchronized by a gear transmission with the possibility of changing (mismatch) the angle of rotation of one crankshaft relative to the other, each crankshaft with its own crank mechanism has opposite located cylinders, connecting rods are trailed to the connecting rod heads, and the connecting rod heads of one crankshaft have a kinematic connection with another crankshaft consisting of a lever, a thrust, a slider and an additional connecting rod, this kinematic connection allows, during engine operation, a mismatch of the angle of rotation of one crankshaft relative to the other change the distance from the piston to the connecting rod journal of the crankshaft by turning the connecting rod head on the connecting rod journal of the crankshaft, changing the compression ratio in the cylinder, and the crankshaft synchronization mechanism is double-flow, with one the front end of the crankshafts connecting the gear transmission with the differential serves for power take-off, and from the other end - the gear transmission, which serves to change the angle of rotation of one crankshaft relative to the other, consisting of two hypoid gears connected by a power shaft with oblique splines along the entire length , on one half of the shaft they are turned clockwise and on the other - counterclockwise, and each small gear of the hypoid transmission has oblique splines inside, corresponding to its half of the power shaft, due to which, when the power shaft moves along its axis, the angle of rotation of one crankshaft relative to the other changes.
