FIELD: welding production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to the technology of repairing structures made of poorly and fairly welded aluminum alloys. A method for repairing a near-surface defect in an aluminum-based alloy structure by heating by friction includes rotating a tool consisting of a hollow steel rod, in the cavity of which an aluminum alloy filler rod is placed with the ratio of the cross-sectional area of the steel rod to the same of the aluminum alloy filler rod of 5/1, establishment of mechanical contact between the surface of the restored structure and the end of the rotating tool and the implementation of friction to heat the filler rod made of aluminum alloy and transfer it to a viscous fluid state, while the temperature in the friction zone of the tool and the surface of the restored structure should not exceed 465 °С, then the viscous-flowing aluminum alloy filler rod is pushed out from the opposite side of the tool at a speed of 2-5 mm / min. and fill the cavity of the restored structure with it.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at improving reliability and quality of joining the metal of the filler rod with the defect cavity.
