FIELD: welding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture by thermomechanical welding of blanks in the form of bodies of revolution from structural or instrumental dissimilar metal alloys. The contact surface of one workpiece to be welded is made in the form of a cone, and the other is in the form of a corresponding conical cavity. At the heating stage, the blanks are brought into relative rotation. After the transition of the metal of the workpieces to be welded into the viscoplastic state, the upsetting stage is carried out. At the end of the heating stage, the workpieces to be welded are additionally affected by a laser beam along a circular or helical trajectory. The area of action of the laser beam is selected on the section of the workpiece with a conical cavity with a greater thickness to ensure its uniform heating. The power of the laser beam is chosen to be sufficient to melt both workpieces to form a weld, or sufficient to melt the workpiece with a tapered cavity, or sufficient to additionally heat both workpieces.
EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the weldability, strength and reliability of the connection of dissimilar materials.
