FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: the invention relates to oxidatively curable coating compositions. A coating composition is proposed that includes an alkyd-based oxidatively curable resin and a chelant capable of chelating at least one transition metal ion with three or four nitrogen atoms, and this composition contains a complex including a chelant and transition metal ion Mn, and this complex is indeterminate, i.e. obtained without isolation from the medium in which it was obtained. A method for obtaining the specified composition for coating and the coating obtained as a result of curing the compound is also proposed.
EFFECT: proposed composition alleviates the problem of surface film formation in storage of compositions, including metal-based siccatives, and at the same time requires less follow-on adaptation by manufacturers of oxidatively curable coating compositions suitable for application than the existing alkyd-based oxidatively curable compositions, which essentially do not contain metal-based siccatives.
