FIELD: iron ore pellet production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of iron ore pellets. The wet charge is fed into the pelletizer in two streams and a skull is formed on the bottom of the pelletizer. The first charge stream is introduced into the compressed gas stream with the formation of a gas-moisture charge stream, into which pore-forming additives in the form of crushed particles of plant origin or agricultural waste are fed, on the surface of which macrodefects are formed by their preliminary mixing with iron-containing scale of steel wire production for 5-20 minutes. The scale content in the mixture is 20-200% of the mass of pore-forming additives. The charge is sprayed onto the skull to obtain a dense layer of wet charge, which is divided into nuclei. The nuclei are further compacted with a charge of the second stream to pellets, dried and fired. Before mixing the pore-forming additives with the scale, the scale is heated to a temperature of 180-360 °C in the drum of the heater. The drum heater, the paths for mixing scale and pore-forming additives and feeding pore-forming additives into the gas-moisture charge stream are thermally insulated.
EFFECT: increased strength of the fired pellets and the productivity of the pelletizer, and decreased duration of drying of the pellets.
