METHOD OF BRAIN SEGMENT LOCALIZATION Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2743608 C1

FIELD: computer engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to computer engineering, namely to brain segment localization. Method contains stages, during which images of magnetic resonance imaging in DICOM format are obtained; DICOM images are converted to BIDS ones; the converted BIDS images are processed, at least noise cleaning, core-registration with structural MRI, and also normalization are performed; an individual pattern for a specific patient is created, taking into account the individual anatomy, by converting a universal pattern, characterizing the brain segment localization. From the obtained individual pattern independent components are isolated in time series, wherein there is activity in brain segments. Localization of brain segments is carried out, and moreover, the proximity measure of the time series in each voxel of functional magnetic resonance tomography (fMRI) is calculated and a correlation map is obtained with the selected desired time series; to each element of the correlation map its z-transformation is built; the threshold equipment is applied to the z-transformed map and voxels are isolated, the combination of which makes up the brain segments.

EFFECT: invention ensures determining the localization of brain segments according to resting-state functional (fMRI) data.
