SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to anesthesiology and resuscitation. In postoperative period, 24 hours after the surgery, general clinical tests are taken with mandatory monitoring of the levels of leukocytes, albumin and blood glucose. Then the prognostic coefficient is calculated according to the formula: PC = (- 0.2666) ×WBC + 0.9224×Alb + (- 2.1137) ×Gl, where: WBC is the level of leukocytes in blood (109/l), Alb is the level of albumin in blood (g / l), Gl - blood glucose level (mmol / l). With a PC value <0, a high probability of post-surgery complications is predicted, and with a PC value> 0, a low probability of post-surgery complications is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables predicting the occurrence of postoperative respiratory disturbance and postoperative delirium during thoracic operations, to take prophylactic measures and timely prescribe treatment, improving quality of life of patients, significantly reducing the cost of treatment and the duration of patients' stay in the intensive care unit.
