SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication technology and can be used in wireless communication systems. The terminal device selects, in accordance with transmission parameters used in transmitting the first data, a modulation coding scheme (MCS) mapping relation table to be used, the MCS mapping relation table containing a mapping relationship between multiple pieces of MCS indication information and multiple MCSs; the terminal device determines, according to the target MCS indication information carried in the DCI and the MCS mapping relation table, the target MCS for data processing for the first data; and the terminal apparatus performs coding and modulation of the first data or demodulation and decoding of the first data in accordance with the target MCS. Thus, the terminal apparatus can select the MCS mapping relation table suitable for the current transmission scenario according to the transmission parameters for data transmission, and efficiently determine the MCS used in the current transmission scenario according to the MCS indication information carried in the DCI and the selected table of the MCS mapping relation.

EFFECT: invention improves the processing accuracy by increasing the efficiency of the table determining the MCS mapping relation used in the current transmission scenario in accordance with the MCS indication information carried to the DCI and the selected MCS mapping relation table.
