FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of production of fraction of iodine radioisotopes. The method comprises stages wherein targets are dissolved with enriched uranium producing a suspension, said suspension is filtered, salts of iodine radioisotopes are adsorbed on a resin with aluminum oxide doped with silver, and said fraction of iodine radioisotopes is recovered. Said stage of extracting said fraction of iodine radioisotopes, particularly I-131, comprises a stage of washing the resin with aluminum oxide doped with silver, NaOH solution, and a stage of elution of iodine radioisotopes with a thiourea solution, with a stage of collecting the eluate containing said iodine radioisotopes in the thiourea solution.
EFFECT: possibility of achieving required purity for medical use and increased environmental safety for the environment and for the operators, including by significantly reducing the danger of presence of strontium in the fraction of the Mo-99 radioisotope.
