FIELD: nuclear medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of production of a radium-224 generator which can be used in nuclear medicine, in particular in targeted alpha radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer. The method of producing a radium-224 generator includes the stage of elution of thorium-228 from the first stationary phase with an aqueous solution A1 containing an agent that forms a complex with thorium-228 to obtain an aqueous solution A2, which contains thorium-228 complexes, a stage of dissociation of thorium-228 complexes by acidifying the aqueous solution A2, thereby obtaining an acidic solution A3 containing decomplexed thorium-228, the step of loading the second stationary phase with an acidic aqueous solution A3, and washing at least once the second stationary phase with an acidic aqueous solution A4, thereby obtaining the said new generator of radium-224. Radium-224 generator is obtained from at least one used radium-224 generator containing thorium-228, which is fixed on the first stationary phase located in the first chromatographic column, and the new radium-224 generator contains thorium-228, which is fixed on a second stationary phase located in a second chromatography column.

EFFECT: ensuring the transfer of the target radionuclide with minimal losses for further use in the field of radiomedicine.
