SUBSTANCE: invention relates to diagnostic equipment and can be used to determine the technical condition of automotive valve generators. The specified technical result is achieved by the fact that to determine the malfunctions, it is proposed to take oscillograms at the power output of the automobile valve generator, having previously disconnected it from the battery and connected to the anode of a semiconductor diode, the cathode of which is connected to the positive terminal of the battery.

EFFECT: invention provides possibility of promptly determining specific malfunctions of automobile valve generators and the stage of their development directly on the car based on the shape of the obtained oscillograms.
