FIELD: railways.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a method and a device for measuring the magnetic induction of an insulated rail joint. The induction measuring device consists of two inductors on each rail strand. The cores of the coils are made in the form of horizontally installed magnetic conductive shunts. One end of the shunt is cantilevered at the end of the first rail, and the other end adjoins, without forming an electrically conductive contact, to the end of the second rail docked to the first. In this case, the shunts are located in the longitudinal direction of the rail symmetrically to the axis of the butt gap in the transverse plane of the rail.
EFFECT: creation of a method and device for measuring the magnetization of an insulating rail joint without interfering with the movement of wheels.
