The system of assistance in the diagnosis of the cell nucleus is made with the possibility of identifying the contour of a biological object in graphic information. The specified system contains a processing unit. The processing unit is configured to receive graphic information that has been segmented into superpixels, select the original set of superpixels in the graphic information at the original location in the graphic information, determine the first morphological variable of the original set of superpixels, identify an additional set of superpixels adjacent to the superpixel of the original set of superpixels, in additional location in the graphic information, generation of the second morphological variable of the union of the original set and the additional set of superpixels and, if the comparison of the second morphological variable with the first morphological variable indicates that the union of the original set and the additional set has a more compact form, specifying the contour of the biological object in the graphic information as the boundaries for combining the original set and the additional set of superpixels. An image processing method for identifying a contour of a biological object in graphic information comprises the steps of a) receiving graphic information that has been segmented into superpixels, b) selecting an initial set of superpixels in graphic information at an initial location in graphic information, c) determining the first morphological variable of the original set of superpixels, d) identifying an additional set of superpixels adjacent to the superpixel of the original set of superpixels at an additional location in the graphics information, e) generating a second morphological variable combining the original set and an additional set of superpixels, f) if comparing the second morphological variable with the first morphological variable indicates that the union of the initial set and the additional set has a greater compactness of form, sets the contour of the biological object in the graphic information as the boundary of the union of the initial set and the auxiliary new set of superpixels. Computer-readable medium for controlling the previously specified processing unit and / or system, configured to store a computer program element on it for controlling the processing unit and / or the system by means of a computer to execute steps of the previously specified method.

EFFECT: application of the inventions leads to a more accurate detection of the boundary of a biological object that has an inhomogeneous distribution of color or texture, such as a cell nucleus.
