FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely cardiovascular surgery. Arteriotomy is performed, which starts from the medial surface of the external carotid artery (ECA) adjacent to the carotid glomus, 2-3 cm above the ECA mouth, followed by a transition to the common carotid artery (CCA) 2-3 cm below the ECA mouth. The internal carotid artery (ICA) is cut off at the site formed by sections of the ECA wall and the common carotid artery (CCA). Endarterectomy from ICA using eversion technique and open endarterectomy from CCA and ECA are performed. The ICA on the saved site is implanted in the previous position.
EFFECT: method allows to prevent traumatization of carotid glomus, to create conditions for visual removal of atherosclerotic plaque (ASP) from carotid arteries, and also to completely remove ASP with decreasing risks of ECA restenosis in the immediate and late postoperative periods.
