METHOD OF RECONSTRUCTION OF BIFURCATION OF CAROTID ARTERIES IN PRESENCE OF HEMODYNAMICALLY SIGNIFICANT STENOSES OF MOUTH OF INTERNAL CAROTID ARTERY, EXTERNAL CAROTID ARTERY, DISTAL SEGMENT OF COMMON CAROTID ARTERY Russian patent published in 2024 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine; cardiovascular surgery.

SUBSTANCE: common carotid artery, external and internal carotid arteries are identified, and a transverse intersection of the common carotid artery is performed proximal to the stenosis. A transverse intersection of the internal carotid artery and external carotid artery is performed distal to the stenosis, after which the CCA-ICA-ECA section is removed. Then the internal carotid artery and the common carotid artery are pulled together and an end-to-end anastomosis is performed. After that, an arteritomy is made in the lateral wall of the internal carotid artery, and an end-to-side anastomosis is performed between the external carotid artery and the arteriotomy opening in the internal carotid artery and blood flow is started.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce the risk of ischemic stroke and neointimal hyperplasia during reconstruction of the bifurcation of the carotid arteries in the presence of hemodynamically significant stenoses of the ostium of the ICA, ECA and distal segment of the CCA.
