SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment used to seal the mouth of oil and gas wells in the process of their development, repair and geophysical research for the prevention and elimination of oil and gas water showings and open fountains in order to ensure safe operation, protection of mineral resources and the environment. A preventer is proposed, comprising a housing having threaded surfaces at the top and bottom, a vertical through cylindrical channel, a horizontal through oval channel, in the lower part of which oblique grooves are located oppositely, also two oval dies are located oppositely in the channel, mounted on the actuator rods, consisting of two plates with a cutout, an oval plate with a T-shaped groove and an elastomer connecting them, actuator covers fixed on the end sides of the body by screws with seals installed in oval grooves, cups with O-rings, nuts with through holes and rods screwed into them, installed in the covers and fixed plates with cutouts, handles are installed on the square projections of the nuts. In this case, a groove is made on the drive glass. A cylindrical metal casing is installed on the square projection of each drive nut, which protects the drive thread from contamination and, together with a groove and a cylindrical section on the outer surface of the glass, painted in a contrasting color, forms an indication system for the open and closed positions of the dies.

EFFECT: preventer provides increased operational reliability and improved performance.
