FIELD: medicine; pharmaceuticals.
SUBSTANCE: first object is a composition for local vaginal use for the treatment of latent and subclinical papillomavirus infection of the cervix, which is a viscous translucent gel containing 2.00 wt.% of imiquimod, 0.01 wt.% of L-thyroxine, 0.05 wt.% of lactic acid, 0.05 wt.% of ascorbic acid, 6.00 wt.% of oxypropylmethylcellulose and purified water. The second object is a method for the treatment of latent and subclinical papillomavirus infection of the cervix, according to which, a vaginal injection of 3.0 grams of the composition is performed using a vaginal applicator once a day at night for 15 days, starting from 5-7 days of the menstrual cycle, while the number of these fifteen-day cycles is from one to three.
EFFECT: creation of a gel with imiquimod for intravaginal injection, which, due to the hydrogel base and combination with lactic and ascorbic acids in given concentrations, provides better drug tolerance while maintaining the effectiveness of imiquimod and L-thyroxine.
