SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of agricultural biotechnology and can be used in silaging amaranth green mass. The composition of a biological starter culture for silaging amaranth "AmarantoSil" consisting of strains of lactic acid bacteria Leuconostoc mesenteroides ssp dextranicum B-3425, Lactobacillus fermentum VKPM B-10888, Lactobacillus plantarum VKPM B-10816 at a concentration of 109 to 1010 cells per 1 ml.
EFFECT: application of the invention allows improving efficiency of silaging amaranth green mass through intensified accumulation of lactic acid accelerating maturing of silage and reducing loss of nutrients.
